Message Correct, Clevite77 bearings are non-Nissan, non-oem bearings. They're the same grade used in Nascar actually.
TIMZ has them in his 700+hp Z...so I guess they'll do the job =P. They don't follow the Nissan grade chart at all though.

Our stock bearings tend to be fine for normal applications, but from I've read in search, they're not up to snuff when the power levels start rising. Some people have gone with Z31 main bearings aswell, which are made of a harder tri-metal...also an option to consider.

Essentially, what you need to do is figure out what grade you would need using the Nissan grade chart. For this, you need to read the numbers stamped on your block and crank. Check in the FSM and use this info to verify what clearnance you'll need for each bearing. With this information, you can choose other bearings that meet your requirements if you want to get non-oem bearings.

ARP bolts for the stock rods is also an excellent idea. The stock stud/nut combo is *ok*, but when you're going to spend that much money, you want piece of mind that what you have from keeping your pistons from going through your block will work.

Shoot me an email if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer if I can. I don't claim to be an expert because I learned by searching just like you =).
